The new site at Drake Hall, Eccleshall, has room for three full-sized pitches, more junior /mini soccer pitches and a clubhouse that is now the permanent home of Eccleshall Eagles Junior Football Club. The ground will be amongst the best in Staffordshire for junior football and a fantastic place for children from Eccleshall and the surrounding area to enjoy their football.

The Clubhouse & Pitches
The brand new clubhouse has an entrance room which has great views of the nearest two pitches for those who need some shelter and warmth when watching football. There is a small kitchen which will serve teas and coffees on game days.
For the players and officials, we have two good sized changing rooms, complete with showers and toilets. There are also two separate referee changing rooms.

The Story of Eagles Park

In 2013, Eccleshall Eagles Junior Football Club, working in partnership with Staffordshire County Council, secured funding from the Football Foundation to support the club’s dream of having a new home by committing a substantial amount of £448,967 towards the project cost.

The club’s growth far outstripped the availability of pitches locally, and areas used by the club as pitches would sometimes be converted farmer’s fields – the club even had to move cows off of pitches before being able to train! Funded by the Premier League, The FA, and the Government (via Sport England), the Foundation is the country’s largest sports charity.

Since it was launched in 2000, the Football Foundation has awarded around 8,000 grants worth more than £420m towards improving grassroots sport, which it has used to attract additional partnership funding of over £520m. Thanks to the Football Foundation and Staffordshire County Council, Eccleshall Eagles will be playing at our new home in time for the start of the 2016 season.

At the announcement of the funding in 2013, Jon Busfield, Chairman of Eccleshall Eagles Junior Football Club, said:

“We are absolutely delighted that the Football Foundation and Staffordshire County Council have supported the club’s development plans, alongside existing commitments from Sport England, Staffordshire Environmental Fund and Lloyds Bank.  Without all of their support, working collaboratively with the club, we would never have been able to create these new pitches and clubhouse. We would like to thank them, as would, I am sure, a generation of grateful young people in the Eccleshall area who are going to benefit from this significantly. The club has some great development plans, including extending our new girls section as well as developing greater coaching and player development. "
